7 recently launched smartphones with 6GB RAM
In the race of providing best specs to consumers, many smartphone makers have recently launched 6GB RAM devices. If you are in the market for a powerful phone, here are some of the smartphones that you may want to consider:
1. OnePlus 5T
OnePlus 5T is one of the latest flagship smartphones to be launched with 6GB RAM. The smartphone looks nearly the same as the OnePlus 5 and even bears the same price tag of Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM version and Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM. The handset will be available in India starting November 21. The handset sports a 6.01-inch full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with a pixel density of 401ppi and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The OnePlus 5T is backed by a 3300mAh battery along with the support for Dash charging tech. A new feature for the smartphone is the Face unlock security tech, which is said to unlock the device in 0.4 seconds. For camera, the OnePlus 5T has a 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor along with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary rear camera comes with a 20MP Sony IMX376K camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture and dual LED flash. At the front there is a 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
2. Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Samsung’s flagship phablet Galaxy Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED ‘Infinity’ display with 2960x1440p. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The device runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and has the company’s home-brewed Bixby digital assistant.
Priced at Rs 67,900, the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone is the first device from the company to sport a dual-rear camera setup and includes two 12MP sensors and has an 8MP selfie shooter.
3. Xiomi Mi Mix 2
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 sports a bezel-less 5.99-inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by a 2.4Ghz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU and costs 35,999, making it is the costliest smartphone by the Chinese tech firm in the country.
The 5MP front camera with facial recognition placed at the bottom of the display and the fingerprint sensor placed on the rear panel. It has 128GB internal storage and sports a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording, 4-axis OIS and dual tone LED flash.
Running Android 7.0 Nougat the company announced that it will also receive Android 8.0 Oreo update by December.
4. Coolpad Cool Play 6
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 comes with a price tag of Rs 14,999 in Soft Gold and Black colour options. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The handset has a fingerprint sensor on the back and is powered by a 64-bit, 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor. For storage, the Coolplad Cool Play 6 offers 64GB internal support but it’s non-expandable. Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat with company’s own Journey UI layer out-of-the-box, the smartphone is backed by a 4000mAh battery
For imaging duties, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 sports a dual rear camera setup with two 13MP modules for depth of field and monochrome functionalities. The camera comes with f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED flash. There’s also an 8MP front camera with /2.2 aperture for selfies. While the rear camera is capable of recording 720p, 1080p and 4K video, the front camera offers 480p, 720p and 1080p.
5. Oppo F3 Plus

Even though the Oppo F3 smartphone has been in India since a few months, the 6GB RAM variant came recently and bears the price tag of Rs 22,990.
The handset comes equipped with a 6-inch full HD display Full-HD IPS LCD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution, secured with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It comes with hybrid dual-SIM functionality and has all standard connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB (with OTG).
The smartphone is powered by 1.95GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor and packs 64GB of internal storage and a microSD card support of up to 256GB. As for the cameras, the Oppo F3 Plus comes with dual front-facing cameras. These include a 16MP regular module and an 8MP wide-angle module.
6. Oppo F5
Another handset from the Chinese smartphone maker Oppo, the 6GB RAM variant of the Oppo F5 costs Rs 24,990.
The USP of Oppo F5 is its selfie camera. The smartphone comes with a 20MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera features with AI beauty recognition technology which can scan up to 200 facial recognition spots that helps in beautifying the selfie. Moreover, the front camera also offers bokeh effect. The front camera can also be used to unlock the phone.
The handset sports a 6-inch full view display with 18:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution with 1080×2160 pixels. It is powered by a 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio P23 processor and runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system topped with Color 3.0 UI layer of the company.
7. Infinix ‘Zero 5‘
The Hong Kong-based smartphone brand Infinix’s flagship smartphone Infinix Zero 5 that sports a 5.98-inch Full-HD display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution. The handset runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box and is powered by a 2.6GHz octa-core MediaTek processor with Mali-T880 GPU.
The smartphone features a dual rear camera setup with one 12MP and other 13MP module. There is also a 16MP front facing camera
